The Door Is Open Before You Knock
The heat is still in your palm, and the words you are rehearsing feel like stones in your mouth. You stand in the doorway, trembling, convinced that you must apologize for the space you take up before you are allowed to cross the threshold.
But the light does not require a speech to let you in. It saw you before you knocked.
It knows the tremor in your hand better than you do. There is a place prepared for you where the apology is unnecessary because you are already known.
Stop practicing the words. The door is not locked against you; it is open, and the voice inside is not waiting for your perfection, but for your presence.
