the silence of waiting for forgiveness that you feel you don't deserve

Mercy Is The Air You Breathe

The day is ending, and the silence in the room feels heavy with everything you haven't said. You are waiting for a forgiveness that feels impossible to earn, convinced that your failures have built a wall too high to climb.

But the light does not wait for you to become worthy before it moves toward you. It saw the woman who washed feet with tears and said her great love proved she was already held.

Go home to your people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you. The mercy is not a reward for your perfection; it is the air you are breathing right now.

The verdict your shame whispers is not the final word, because the one who knows everything about you has already decided you are loved. You do not need to earn what has already been given.
