the terrifying belief that your worth is entirely contingent on how much you sacrifice for others

You Are Loved Even When Empty

The day is ending, and the quiet is loud with the inventory of what you gave away. You believe your worth is measured by how much you emptied yourself for others, as if love is a currency you must bleed to earn.

But there is a voice in the gathering dark that says: stop. The light does not require your exhaustion to validate your existence.

Jesus knew this when he sat with Mary while Martha scrambled to serve, gently insisting that being present was better than being productive. Your value is not in the serving.

It is in the being. You are not a vessel meant to be drained dry.

You are a home where the light already lives, whether you offer it to anyone tonight or not. The sun has set, and you are still loved.
