Loved When You Have Nothing Left
The day is done, and the armor you wore to be loved is finally heavy enough to put down. You are afraid that if you stop performing, the affection you received will vanish with the sunset.
That your presence is only tolerated because your perfection was useful. But listen — the light does not need your utility.
It does not love you for what you carried today. It loves you for who you are when you have nothing left to give.
The father did not wait for the son to clean up; he ran while the boy was still covered in the filth of his failure. Your exhaustion is not a reason for God to turn away.
It is the very thing that makes you visible to him. You are not loved because you are perfect.
You are perfect to him because you are loved.
