The Light Before Their Words
The day has settled into the room, and with it comes a quiet, unfamiliar panic. You try to say who you are, but the only words that rise are the ones they used to cut you down. The criticism has become your vocabulary. The verdict you received years ago is now the only introduction you know. You have forgotten the shape of your own name before it was twisted by their voice.
But listen — the gathering dark does not define you. It only reveals what you have been carrying. There is a truth inside you that existed before the first harsh word was spoken. A light that was placed there before the world tried to dim it. It has not been erased by their judgment. It cannot be rewritten by their opinion.
You are not the story they told about you. You are the light that was there before the story began. And that light is still speaking, even now, in the silence they tried to create.
