the exhaustion of trying to love a world that feels unlovable

Rest When the World Won't Change

The day has gathered its dark around you, and the weight of trying to love a world that feels unlovable is heavy on your shoulders. You have given until you are empty, and the world has not become kinder for your sacrifice.

The exhaustion is real — the ache of pouring light into a darkness that seems to swallow it whole. But listen — the light does not depend on the world's response to keep shining.

Jesus looked out at the crowds, harassed and helpless, and his first reaction was not disappointment but compassion. He did not demand the world be worthy before he loved it.

He loved it because it was broken. You are not responsible for fixing the darkness.

You are only called to remain the light. And the light within you cannot be extinguished by the unloveliness outside.

Let the day end. Put down the burden of saving what you cannot save.

The light is still there, quiet and steady, even when the world refuses to see it.
