You Can Creak and Still Be Loved
The day has finally stopped moving, and now you face the walk down the hall. You know exactly which floorboard will sing out under your weight.
You hold your breath, trying to become lighter than air, terrified that the sound will wake them and force a conversation you do not have the energy to survive. That dread is the tax you pay for caring too much when you are empty.
But listen — the light does not demand your performance right now. It does not require you to be cheerful or articulate or even awake.
There is a peace that does not need the house to be silent to exist. You can creak.
You can be heavy. You can be tired.
The love behind that door is not a trap waiting to spring; it is a resting place that survives your exhaustion. You do not have to sneak past the people who love you.
You are allowed to arrive exactly as you are — weary, quiet, and real.
