the reflexive reach for a phone that isn't there to prove you still exist

The Light Does Not Need A Battery

The day ends and your hand reaches for the pocket where the phone used to be. It is a reflex now — a twitch of the fingers searching for a screen to prove you still exist, to prove you were seen today.

But the pocket is empty. The silence rushes in to fill the space where the noise used to be.

And in that quiet, the old fear whispers that without the glow, you are invisible. That without the likes, you are nothing.

But the light does not need a battery to shine. It does not need a signal to connect you to the source.

You are not a profile to be updated. You are a living presence, known deeply even in the dark.

The father saw the son while he was still a long way off — before the speech, before the performance, before the proof. He ran.

The light is already running toward you, not because you posted your pain, but because you are here. You do not need to reach for the phone to be real.

You are the light the world has been waiting for.
