The Mask Is Heavier Than Your Face
The day ends, and the mask feels heavier than the face beneath it. You said you were fine, and now the silence of the room is asking if you remember how to tell the truth.
The performance was so smooth, so automatic, that you didn't even feel the moment you slipped into it. But the light does not need your script.
It does not need the polished answer or the brave face. It is waiting for the exhale—the one you have been holding since morning.
There is a rest that comes not from fixing yourself, but from finally putting the armor down. You do not have to explain the weariness to be held in it.
The mask was never the requirement; your presence was. Lay it down.
The light sees what is behind it, and it is not disappointed.
