The Light Runs Before You Speak
The cursor blinks like a heartbeat you wish you could pause. You type the truth, then delete it because it feels too heavy to send.
You type a lie, then delete that because it feels too cruel to offer. You are suspended in the gathering dark, terrified that either choice will break something irreparable.
But listen — the light does not demand you choose between a crushing honesty and a comforting fiction tonight. There was a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off.
He ran. Before the apology, before the speech, before the perfect words were rehearsed — he ran.
The light is already moving toward you, not waiting for your draft to be flawless. You do not have to get the message right to be received.
The silence between your attempts is not empty; it is where the love waits. You are known, even in the unsent words.
