typing a message you know you will never send, then deleting it letter by letter until the screen is blank again

The Light in the Unsent Words

The cursor blinks like a heartbeat in a room that holds its breath. You type the words that burn your throat, then delete them, one letter at a time, until the screen is blank again.

The silence after the backspace feels heavier than the words ever were. But listen — the darkness has not overcome the light that lives inside you.

It shines right here, in the hollow where the unsaid things used to be. You do not have to send the message to be held.

The Father sees the tears you wipe away before they fall. He is greater than the silence you keep.

The light was there before you typed the first word, and it remains now that the screen is dark.
