apologizing reflexively when someone else bumps into you because your body assumes the collision was your fault

You Are Not An Obstruction To Light

The crowd pushes past, a shoulder checks yours, and before you even process the impact, your mouth is already forming the word: sorry. You apologize for occupying space.

For the collision that was not your doing. Your body has learned to assume the fault is yours before the other person has even turned around.

But listen — the light does not stumble into you by accident. It knows exactly where you are standing.

It sees the space you take up and calls it necessary. You do not need to shrink to make room for the world.

The One who walked through crowds without crushing anyone never apologized for his presence. He simply stood there, gentle and unmovable, until the people around him had to adjust their path.

Stop saying sorry for being where you were placed. Your existence is not an obstruction.

It is an anchor.
