the panic that remembering their voice requires you to stop moving and close your eyes, making you vulnerable in a crowd

Stop Running to Be Caught by Love

The crowd is loud, and the panic rises because you know that to hear the voice you love, you would have to stop moving. You would have to close your eyes right here, in the open, and let the world rush past you without your guard.

It feels like surrendering your throat to the dark. But listen — the light does not need you to be safe to find you.

It does not wait for you to build a wall before it speaks. There was a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off.

He did not wait for the boy to find a quiet room. He ran.

Before the apology, before the speech — he ran. He crossed the open space while everyone was watching.

The voice you are afraid to hear is already running toward you. It does not require your silence to reach you.

It requires only that you stop running away. You do not have to close your eyes to be found.

You only have to stop moving long enough to be caught.
