The Light Loves Your Broken Glass
The coffee cup is warm in your hand, but your chest feels like it is full of broken glass. You force the corners of your mouth up.
You say 'good morning' with a bright, animated voice that does not match the silence inside you. The mask is heavy today.
It takes so much energy to perform okayness while you are falling apart. But the light does not need your performance.
It sees the glass. It sees the effort.
It sees the real you behind the smile. There is a truth that lives in us and will be with us forever.
It is not the mask. It is the quiet thing underneath.
You do not have to hold the smile for the light to love you. It loves the broken glass just as much as the bright voice.
The mask is for the world. The truth is for God.
And the truth is enough.
