The Light Sees Your Trembling Hand
The beep is waiting, and you are holding your breath so the voice doesn't crack. You perform the cheerful update because the world expects you to be fine, but the light sees the tremor in your hand.
There was a man born blind, and the disciples asked whose sin caused it, but the light said neither — it was so the works of God might be displayed in him. Your breaking is not a failure of faith; it is the canvas.
The light does not need your performance to shine through the cracks. It is already there, in the middle of the afternoon, in the silence after you hang up.
You do not have to hold it together for the recording to be heard.
