The Guard Can Stand Down Now
The armor you built for them feels heavy now, like the very thing that bruised the skin it was meant to shield. You lie awake wondering if your protection became the prison, if your caution taught them fear instead of safety.
But listen — the light does not scold the parent who tried too hard. It sees the love underneath the mistake.
There was a father who wept over a city that refused his care, longing to gather them like a hen gathers her chicks, even when they would not be gathered. Your failure to get it perfect did not cancel your love.
The light knows the difference between your intent and the outcome. It is not asking you to carry the weight of their entire future tonight.
It is asking you to rest in the truth that your love was real, even if the method was flawed. The guard can stand down now.
The light was already there, in the room, before you ever tried to protect them.
