Your Silence Is A Canvas For Light
The afternoon wears on, and the silence in your chest starts to feel like a weight you are forcing everyone else to carry. You wonder if your quiet is a burden, a wall that makes your loved ones work harder to reach you.
But the light does not see your silence as a rejection. It sees it as the space where the real work is happening.
There was a man who had been blind from birth, and people assumed his condition was a punishment, a burden of sin. The light looked at him and said: neither this man nor his parents sinned.
This happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him. Your silence is not a verdict.
It is a canvas. The people who love you are not waiting for you to perform noise so they can feel okay.
They are waiting with you. They are not burdened by your stillness; they are holding the space for the light to move through it.
You do not have to speak to be loved. You only have to be here.
