The Light Loves the Face Beneath
The afternoon sun is unforgiving; it shines a harsh light on every crack in the mask you wear to keep love close. You are exhausted from holding your breath, terrified that the moment they see the real you, the affection will vanish like smoke.
But listen — the love that holds you does not depend on your performance. There is a love that saw the deepest parts of you before you ever spoke a word, and it did not flinch.
You do not have to earn what has already been given. The fear says you must be perfect to be kept, but the truth says you are known and still chosen.
You are not a project to be fixed, but a person to be held. The light does not love the mask; it loves the face beneath it.
