You Do Not Have to Earn Love
The afternoon sun is unforgiving. It exposes every crack in the mask you've been wearing since morning.
You are rehearsing the exact tone of voice you will use when they wake up — practicing the softness, the safety, the version of you that didn't hurt them before. You are trying to edit your own nature before the door opens.
But the light does not ask you to perform a better self. It saw you yesterday, and it sees you now, and it is not afraid of your history.
The light does not need you to be perfect to be present. It only asks that you remain.
The voice you are searching for is not a new invention. It is the one that remains when you stop trying to fix everything.
You do not have to earn the right to speak love. You only have to speak.
