the memory of a specific moment you asked for help and saw a flicker of exhaustion in their eyes that you now replay endlessly as proof of your toxicity

Not Rejection, Just Human Limits

The afternoon sun is unforgiving, exposing the dust motes dancing in the air and the flicker of exhaustion you saw in their eyes when you asked for help. You replay that moment on a loop, convinced it is the receipt for your toxicity, the proof that you are too heavy to carry.

But you are interpreting a human limit as a divine verdict. Jesus once looked at a man who had been broken for thirty-eight years and simply asked, 'Do you want to get well?' He did not scan the man's history for signs of burden; He saw only the person in front of Him.

That flicker you remember was not rejection; it was merely the finite capacity of a human being meeting the infinite depth of your pain. The light does not keep a ledger of how much you have taken; it only knows how much it has to give.

You are not defined by the moment someone else grew tired; you are defined by the One who never does.
