Resting in the Light That Sees You
The afternoon sun is unforgiving, exposing the dust motes you wish you could sweep under the rug of yesterday's conversation. You are replaying the moment you slipped, editing your words in the theater of your mind, trying to polish the stain until it disappears.
But the light does not need your edited transcript. It saw the real you then, and it sees the real you now, and it is not asking for a rewrite.
There is a bruised reed the light will not break, and a smoldering wick it will not snuff out — your faltering words are not the end of your story. You do not have to carry the weight of a perfect performance into this hour.
The yoke you are wearing is easy, and the burden of being exactly who you are is light. Stop trying to fix the past; just rest in the presence that holds you right now.
