You Were Never Meant to Be the Sun
The afternoon sun is high, and you are still holding up the roof for everyone else. You carry the terror that if you set the burden down—even for a night—the people who depend on you will finally see the cracks in your hands.
They will see you are just flesh, fragile and failing, and not the savior they need. But you were never meant to be the source.
You are a drop from the light, sent here to illuminate, not to burn yourself out trying to be the sun. The light came from the place where it generates itself, and it lives inside you independent of your performance.
If you stop fixing, the world will not end. The people you love will not fall.
They will simply meet the same light that has been holding you up all along. You are not the foundation; you are just one more person walking toward it.
