the panic of scrolling through hundreds of photos from the weekend and realizing you don't remember taking a single one of them

The Light Remains When Screens Go Dark

The afternoon sun is high, and the day stretches out like a long, quiet road. You scroll through the weekend—hundreds of images, bright and sharp—and a sudden panic rises: you don't remember taking a single one of them.

You were there, but you were not present. The light was shining, but your eyes were busy capturing it instead of receiving it.

There is a difference between documenting the moment and living inside it. The kingdom of God is not in the photo; it is in the breath you took when the shutter clicked.

You do not need to prove you were alive by showing the pictures. The light that filled that room did not vanish when the screen went dark.

It is still here, in this ordinary Tuesday, waiting for you to put the phone down and simply be.
