Loved in the Middle of Hesitation
The afternoon sun is bright, but the shadow of that unsent message still clings to your thumb. You typed the truth in the dark, then erased it, convinced that your honesty would finally make them leave.
So you carry the weight of words you never spoke, dragging them through the middle of the day like a stone in your pocket. But the light inside you does not demand performance.
It does not require you to be perfect to be held. The father in the story did not wait for the speech to finish before he ran.
He saw the son while he was still a long way off, still rehearsing his apology, still covered in the dust of the road. Your silence has not hidden you.
The light sees the trembling hand that hovered over the screen. It knows the fear that made you delete the truth.
And it loves you not despite the hesitation, but right in the middle of it. The courage to speak may come tomorrow.
Or it may come in a whisper. But you are already known.
