The Light Sees Behind Your Smile
The afternoon sun is bright, and it makes the mask feel heavy. You walked into the room, smiled at the people who know you, and acted as if the silence of last night never happened.
As if the weight didn't crush you. As if you didn't almost break.
But the light does not need your performance. It saw you in the dark, and it sees you now behind the smile.
There was a father who watched the road every day, not waiting for a perfect son, but just watching. He didn't need an apology to run.
He saw the dust from a long way off and he ran. You do not have to clean up the silence before you are loved.
The light is not fooled by the afternoon act, and it is not disappointed by the night. It is simply with you.
The mask is for them. The truth is for Him.
And the truth is that you are still here.
