The Light Sees Your Exhaustion
The afternoon sun exposes every crack in the mask you wear for the people who trust you. You walk through the motions, smiling at the right times, nodding at the right moments, while inside you are convinced that today is the day they finally see the fraud.
You are terrified that if they knew the truth, they would turn away. But the light does not need your performance to stay close.
It sees the exhaustion behind your eyes and the shaking hands you hide under the desk. There is a voice that says, "I am with you always," and it is not speaking to the version of you that has it all together.
It is speaking to the one who is barely holding on. The light is not surprised by your fear.
It is not waiting for you to fix yourself before it offers peace. It is already in the room, sitting in the quiet space between your heartbeats, refusing to leave.
You do not have to prove your worth to the one who knows you best. The mask is heavy, but you were never meant to carry it alone.
