Light Shines in the Waiting Room
The afternoon stretches out, long and quiet, while you wait for news that feels like it could change everything. Health anxiety makes the middle of the day feel like a holding pattern where nothing moves but your fear.
You are scanning the horizon for a storm that may never come, forgetting that the light is already here, steady and unmoving. There is a peace that does not depend on the outcome of a test or the word of a doctor.
It is a gift given freely, not earned by good results or perfect scans. The darkness of uncertainty has not overcome the light that lives inside you right now.
You are held in this moment, exactly as you are, before the answer arrives. The waiting is not empty; it is filled with a presence that knows your name and your body better than you do.
Your value is not determined by a diagnosis. You are more than the sum of your symptoms.
The light shines in the waiting room just as brightly as it does in the healing. Breathe.
The answer will come when it comes. Until then, you are not alone in the silence.
