The Light Needs No Receiver
The afternoon stretches out, long and quiet, and the small joy rises in your chest like a bird wanting to fly. Your hand reaches for the phone, muscle memory seeking the one name that used to be the first call.
Then the silence hits—the realization that the number is disconnected, or the person is gone, and the joy has nowhere to land. It hangs in the air, heavy and unshared.
But listen—the light does not require a receiver to be real. It shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
That joy you felt? It was not a mistake.
It was the light within you, shining on its own, needing no one else to validate its existence. You are the lamp, and the light is already full.
