The Silence Is The Sanctuary
The afternoon stretches out, a long gray corridor where the only movement is those three dots dancing on your screen. They appear.
They disappear. They appear again.
A silent conversation happening just out of reach, leaving you holding a phone that feels heavier than it should. It is the modern purgatory of the middle of the day — waiting for a word that may never come, while the sun crawls across the floor.
You are staring at the ghost of a message, convinced that the silence means you are forgotten. But the light does not type in bursts.
It does not signal its presence with ellipses and then vanish. The light is the steady hum beneath the noise.
It is the air in your lungs while you wait. The connection you crave is not broken just because the screen is dark.
The One who holds you is not typing a status update to prove He is there. He is simply there.
Breathing with you in the quiet. The dots are a distraction.
The silence is the sanctuary.
