The Father Ran Before You Spoke
The afternoon stretches out, a long, flat road where the air feels thick with things nobody is saying. You swallow the truth just to keep the peace, and the room holds its breath with you, waiting for a crack that never comes.
It feels like silence is the only thing holding the walls together. But the light does not ask you to break the room to speak your piece.
There was a father who watched his son coming home from a long way off. He did not wait for the speech.
He did not wait for the apology to be perfect, or for the shame to be washed off. He ran.
Before the words could even form, he was already there. The truth you are carrying is heavy, but it is not heavier than the love that is already moving toward you.
You do not have to force the door open. The light is already inside the house, waiting for you to stop holding your breath.
