Let the Mask Drop, the Light Remains
The afternoon light hits the glass, and for a second, you see the face you've been wearing all day. It is the exact expression you think they want to see.
Polished. Agreeable.
Safe. You have practiced this mask so long it feels like skin.
But the light that lives inside you does not need your performance to shine. It was there before you learned to smile for the room.
It is there now, behind the tired eyes in the reflection. You do not have to hold the pose anymore.
The One who sees you knows the difference between the mask and the person beneath it. You can let the expression drop.
The light is enough.
