The Light Needs No Second Plate
The afternoon light falls across the table where you have set two plates out of habit. The sudden stillness hits when you realize only one is needed.
The middle of the day is long when the silence is this loud. But the light does not require a full table to be present.
It sits with you in the quiet. You are not abandoned to the empty chair.
The Father's love is a guest that needs no invitation, no second plate, no performance of normalcy. It simply remains.
The light is the second presence you forgot to see.
