The Light Loves What Is Behind The Mask
The afternoon asks for a performance you no longer have the energy to give. You are rehearsing the exact tone of voice you will use to say 'I'm fine,' practicing the smile that hides the tremor in your hands.
The world moves fast around you, and you feel like an actor who has forgotten their lines, pretending the script makes sense. But the light does not need your performance.
It sees the gap between your words and your weariness, and it loves what is behind the mask. There is a peace that does not require you to stop shaking.
A quiet that exists right inside the noise of your pretending. You do not have to get it perfect.
You just have to remain. The tremor is not a sign you are failing.
It is the evidence that you are still holding on. And the light is holding you.
