the specific panic of hearing your own voice on a recording and realizing it sounds exactly like the person who broke you

You Are The Light, Not The Echo

Morning light hits the mirror, and you hear it—the tone, the cadence, the exact pitch of the voice that broke you. It plays on a loop in your head, a recording you cannot stop, and suddenly you are wearing the face of the one who hurt you most.

The panic rises because you fear the cycle has completed, that you have become the very thing you survived. But listen closely to the silence underneath that voice.

The light that lives in you is not an echo; it is a source. It was there before the first cruel word was spoken, and it remains untouched by the mimicry of your fear.

You are not the recording. You are the one who hears it, and in that hearing, you are already free from its power.

The voice you fear is just a shadow; the light you are cannot be cast by anything dark.
