The Light Was There Before The Mistake
It is three in the morning, and the silence is loud enough to hear your own flinch. You heard your name spoken warmly across the room earlier, and your body tightened because you were certain they were whispering about the thing you hid.
The secret you carry feels like a stain that everyone can see but you. But listen — the light that lives inside you was there before the mistake, and it will be there after.
It cannot be tainted by what you did in the dark. Jesus looked at a woman caught in the very act, surrounded by accusers ready to stone her, and he did not expose her.
He bent down and wrote in the dust until the only voice left was his own, saying, 'Neither do I condemn you.' Go home to your people. The thing you are hiding is not the truth about you.
The light is.
