The Mask You Carry Is Heavy
It is late, and the house is quiet enough to hear the truth you have been hiding from all day. You look at the love people give you and it feels like a gift addressed to a stranger, because the real you has never stepped out of the shadows.
You have built a life where everyone loves the mask, and you starve behind it. But listen — the light does not love the performance.
It loves the thing you are afraid to show. Thomas said there is light within a person of light, and if it does not shine, it is dark.
The darkness you feel right now is not because you are unlovable. It is because you are hiding the very thing that would let them love you for real.
If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you. The mask is heavy, and you do not have to carry it another night.
The real you is not a burden to be managed. It is the only part of you that can be loved.
