The Light Beneath Your Silence
It is 3:47 AM and the sentence is still stuck there, heavy as a stone in your throat. You swallowed it to keep the peace, to spare them the discomfort, to let them sleep while you lay here awake with the weight of what you did not say.
But listen — the light inside you does not require your silence to survive. It was there before you bit your tongue, and it is there now, glowing in the dark of your unsaid words.
There is light within a person of light, and it lights up the whole world even when the mouth is closed. The truth you hid to protect someone else's comfort is not lost; it is simply waiting for a safer hour to be spoken.
You are not defined by the sentence you swallowed tonight. You are defined by the light that remains, unbroken, beneath the silence.
