Phaino provides an AI-powered conversational interface designed to simulate spiritual companionship, along with curated Guided Journeys, a searchable library of reflections, and a feature to share reflections with others. The conversational guide draws from selected spiritual texts and is intended as a tool for personal reflection, comfort, and encouragement. Guided Journeys are 7-day audio devotional experiences with accompanying text and PDF devotionals — all content is generated by AI. The Listen and Send Light features provide access to a library of AI-generated spoken reflections. The App is a technology product — it is software that generates text and audio based on statistical patterns in language data.
Not a mental health service or medical device. The App is not a licensed therapist, psychologist, psychiatrist, counselor, social worker, or medical professional. It cannot and does not diagnose, treat, cure, prevent, or manage any mental health condition, medical condition, or disease. It does not provide mental health counseling, therapy, psychiatric treatment, psychological assessment, or any form of clinical care. The App is not a medical device as defined by the FDA or any regulatory body. The App is not a substitute for professional mental health care, and use of the App should not delay or replace seeking professional help.
Not a crisis intervention or emergency service. While the App includes keyword-based features that may display contact information for crisis resources (such as the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and Crisis Text Line) and medical emergency resources (such as 911 and Poison Control), these features have significant limitations. They operate through simple keyword matching, which means they may fail to detect genuine crisis or emergency situations (false negatives) or may trigger inappropriately on non-crisis messages (false positives). The Company does not monitor conversations, cannot detect emergencies, and cannot intervene in any situation. These detection features are provided as a convenience only and should never be relied upon as a crisis intervention tool, medical triage system, safety system, or substitute for calling emergency services (911), contacting a crisis hotline directly, or seeking immediate professional help.
Not a religious authority or spiritual advisor. The guide is an artificial intelligence — specifically, a language model that generates text by predicting the most likely next words in a sequence. It does not possess spiritual insight, divine guidance, personal faith, consciousness, understanding, wisdom, or personal experiences. Its responses may reference spiritual texts but do so through computational pattern matching, not through genuine understanding or spiritual discernment. The App should not be treated as a source of authoritative spiritual counsel, religious instruction, moral guidance, or divine revelation. We encourage users to consult qualified spiritual leaders, clergy, and faith communities for matters of genuine spiritual importance.
Not a substitute for human connection. The App simulates conversational interaction through AI technology. It cannot replace the support, understanding, empathy, or connection provided by family, friends, faith communities, therapists, counselors, or other real people in your life. If you are in emotional distress or facing difficult circumstances, we strongly encourage you to reach out to a real person.
Not legal, financial, or professional advice. The App does not provide and should not be relied upon for legal advice, financial advice, tax guidance, or any other professional counsel.
You acknowledge and understand that:
AI-generated content may be inaccurate. The AI may generate responses that contain factual errors, misquotations of scripture or spiritual texts, historically inaccurate information, logically inconsistent statements, or entirely fabricated information (sometimes referred to as "hallucinations"). The AI does not verify the accuracy of its outputs.
AI-generated content may be inappropriate or harmful. Despite safeguards built into the App, the AI may generate content that is inappropriate, insensitive, misleading, spiritually harmful, emotionally triggering, or offensive. The Company cannot guarantee that the AI will always produce appropriate, helpful, or safe responses.
The AI does not understand you. While the guide is designed to simulate empathy and understanding, it is a software application processing text input. It does not actually understand your feelings, circumstances, needs, or well-being. It cannot assess your mental state, emotional health, or safety.
AI responses are not personalized professional advice. Even when the AI generates responses that appear tailored to your situation, these responses are generated through pattern matching, not through professional assessment, clinical judgment, or genuine understanding of your individual circumstances.
Guided Journeys, including all spoken reflections, written text, and PDF devotionals, are generated by artificial intelligence. The same limitations that apply to the conversational guide apply to all journey content. Specifically:
Journey content is not therapy or a treatment program. A 7-day Guided Journey is not a clinical intervention, therapeutic program, treatment plan, or substitute for professional care. It is AI-generated devotional content designed for personal reflection only.
Journey content may be inaccurate or inappropriate. Despite curation and quality controls, journey reflections may contain factual errors, misquotations of sacred texts, or content that is emotionally triggering, inappropriate for your specific situation, or spiritually harmful. The Company cannot guarantee that any journey will be helpful, accurate, or appropriate for your circumstances.
Journey topics are not diagnoses. Topics such as "Grief & Loss," "Anxiety & Fear," or "Depression & Hopelessness" are descriptive labels for devotional content, not clinical diagnoses or assessments. Selecting a journey topic does not constitute a diagnosis or acknowledgment of any condition.
The Company does not owe you a duty of care through the provision of this App. The App does not create a therapist-client relationship, doctor-patient relationship, clergy-penitent relationship, counselor-client relationship, or any other professional or fiduciary relationship between you and the Company. The Company has no obligation to monitor your use of the App, to assess your well-being, or to intervene in any situation.
By using the App, you expressly acknowledge and assume all risks associated with the use of AI-generated spiritual and emotional content, including the risk of receiving inaccurate information, the risk of emotional or psychological impact from AI-generated responses, the risk that the crisis detection feature may not function as expected, and the risk that the App may not be suitable for your particular needs or circumstances. You agree that you are solely responsible for evaluating the accuracy, appropriateness, and usefulness of any content generated by the App.
