Let the dam break and be carried
Your jaw aches from holding the shape of okayness. Your throat is tight from swallowing the words that wanted to scream.
You have been a dam all morning, and the pressure is building behind your eyes. But the light does not need you to hold it back.
It is not afraid of your anger or your grief. In the middle of the crowd, while everyone else pressed in, a woman reached out just to touch the edge of his cloak.
She did not have the right words. She only had the need.
And the power went out of him to meet her. You do not have to be composed to be held.
You do not have to be quiet to be seen. The light is not waiting for your performance to end.
It is already flowing toward the crack in your armor. Let the dam break.
The water will not drown you; it will carry you.
