the private rehearsal of apologies you whisper to the mirror before entering a room, terrified that your authentic self is still too broken to be loved

The Light Sees Your Honest Ache

You stand before the mirror rehearsing the speech that will make you acceptable, terrified that the real you is still too broken to be loved. You practice the smile, the tone, the apology for existing, believing you must fix yourself before you can enter the room.

But the light does not wait for your performance to finish. It sees the tears you wiped away and the fear you are trying to hide behind your eyes.

There was a man born blind, and the disciples asked whose sin had caused it, looking for someone to blame. The light refused to play that game.

It said the blindness was not a punishment, but a space where the works of God could be displayed. Your brokenness is not a disqualification.

It is the very canvas. You do not need to apologize for the cracks.

The light is not looking for a perfect face to love. It is looking for the one who is honest about the ache.

Go home to your own people and tell them how much the light has done for you, and how it has had mercy on you. The mask is heavy.

You can put it down.
