The Light Does Not Apologize For Shining
You shared a piece of your brokenness, and now you are replaying the silence that followed. You are dissecting their facial expression, searching for the micro-second of disgust, the slight tightening of the mouth that confirms your fear: you showed too much.
You are back behind the mask, convinced that the light you revealed was a mistake. But listen — the light does not apologize for shining.
When the woman with the bleeding touched the hem of his cloak, power went out from him, and he stopped the entire crowd to find her. He did not recoil.
He called her 'Daughter.' The light is not disgusted by your need; it is drawn to it. What you interpret as rejection is often just the other person's shock at seeing something real in a world of performance.
You are scanning for horror in their eyes, but the truth is simpler: they are looking at the same light that lives in you. You do not need to earn back their comfort by hiding again.
The mask was never required.
