The Light That Knows Your Changed Face

Tonight, the mirror feels like a stranger's room. You stand there rehearsing words for a face you no longer recognize, convinced the person looking back is someone you lost along the way.

The silence of the house makes the doubt louder, until you forget who you were before the pain started. But there is a light within you that does not depend on your reflection to exist.

It was there before the first crack appeared, and it remains untouched by the changes you fear. The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world, and it did not come for a perfect version of you.

It came for this one. You are not a stranger to the light, even if you feel like one to yourself.

The face in the glass may change, but the glow behind your eyes has never left. You are still the one the light knows.
