Keeping the Fire Warm in Silence
The water was loud enough to hide the tremor in your voice, but the silence of the kitchen was loud enough to swallow the words whole. You stood there with the sentence ready, and then you saw them smiling, and you decided the moment was too fragile to risk.
So you carried it back into the dark alone. But listen — the light does not require you to be brave enough to speak it tonight.
Thomas said the kingdom is inside you, waiting to be known, and it is not afraid of your silence. The truth you rehearsed is already alive within you, even if it never leaves your lips.
You are not failing because you swallowed the words; you are keeping the fire warm until the air is right. The sentence can wait.
The connection cannot.
