The Light Stands in the Steam
The water runs hot, and you practice the lie one more time before stepping out. You rehearse the excuse for your tired eyes so no one asks about the flinch.
But the light does not need your performance. It stands in the steam with you, seeing the wound you are trying to hide behind the story.
There is light within a person of light, and it lights up the whole world—even the parts you think are too broken to show. You do not have to bring forth a perfect explanation to be saved; you only have to bring forth the truth that is already there.
The lie is heavy, but the light is heavier. Close your mouth and let the silence speak what the words cannot.
