The Silence Holds Your Soul
The water is loud enough to hide the sound, but not loud enough to hide the weight. You stand there letting it pour over you because it is the only place the mask can finally slip.
And then the guilt arrives — the shame that you had to hide your grief from the very people you love. But listen.
The light does not need your composure. It does not require you to hold yourself together for its sake.
There is a mercy waiting for you that is entirely yours, and it will protect you even in your unraveling. You do not have to explain the tears to be held by them.
The water washes the face, but the silence holds the soul. The performance is over.
You are allowed to be the one who weeps.
