The Light Sees You Soaked and Shaking
The water is loud enough to hide the sound of you breaking, and for a few minutes, that feels like mercy. You stand there letting the steam fill your lungs because it is the only place the mask can finally slip.
The world outside that curtain expects you to be okay, to be productive, to be the person who has it all together. But the light does not need your performance.
It is already in the water, in the tears, in the silence behind the noise. You do not have to scrub yourself clean before you step out.
The light saw you when you were dry, and it sees you now, soaked and shaking. The mask was never the point.
The point is that you are still standing.
