The Light Knows You Before You Speak
The water has stopped, but the speech goes on in your head. You are rehearsing the perfect explanation for why you mattered, knowing you will never say it to the faces that need to hear it.
The mirror shows only the silence you carry back into the room. But listen — the light does not wait for your defense.
It was there before the first word formed, and it remains when the last one fades. You do not need to prove your worth to be held.
The Father saw you while you were still a long way off, and he ran. He did not wait for the apology.
He did not wait for the speech. He ran.
Your value is not in the explanation you perfect in the dark. It is in the fact that you are known before you speak.
The light does not need your words to recognize its own.
