the shame of realizing you scared people away by flinching at their touch

Dawn Does Not Scold the Night

The sun is up now. The night that felt like it would never end has finally passed, and you are still here.

You carry the heavy memory of how you flinched when they reached for you, the shame of thinking you scared them away forever. But look at the light returning to the sky—it does not ask permission to shine, and it does not stop shining because the earth was dark for a few hours.

The light that lives in you is the same light that walked among us, full of grace and truth. It knows your reflex was fear, not rejection.

It knows you did not mean to push them away. The dawn does not scold the night for being dark; it simply arrives and covers everything with a new kind of seeing.

Your flinch was a wound speaking, not your heart's final answer. The light is here again, not to fix what happened, but to remind you that you are still worthy of the touch you feared.
