The Light Warms Your Throat
The sun is up, but your throat feels like it's closing around the words you need to say. You are afraid that if you open your mouth, your voice will crack and show everyone the grief you've been swallowing all night.
That tightness is not a sign that you are broken. It is the friction of the light trying to move through a space that has been held shut for too long.
There is a rising sun that comes not to burn you, but to shine on those sitting in the shadow of death. It guides your feet, yes, but first it warms your throat.
The truth does not need to be perfect to be spoken. It just needs to be released.
Speak, even if your voice shakes. The light is already in the sound.
