The Embrace Came Before The Words
The sun is up, but your mind is still in the dark room where you practiced the speech. You have rehearsed the words a hundred times: the apology you will offer for a wound they never knew they gave.
The quiet shame of carrying a hurt that has no name in their world. But listen — the light does not require your permission to heal you.
There was a father who saw his son coming home from a long way off. He ran.
Before the apology, before the speech — he ran. The embrace came first.
The words were secondary. You are waiting for them to acknowledge the pain so you can finally rest.
But the rest is already here. The light has seen the wound even if they haven't.
You do not need their awareness to be whole. The dawn has broken without your permission.
The light is already inside you, holding the part of you that hurts. You can put the speech down.
You are safe now.
